Other activities

  • Music in Catholic Schools

STM students in grades 5-8 are eligible to participate in the Archdiocese of Omaha Music in Catholic Schools (MCS) program. MCS provides instrumental band instruction, with concerts throughout the year.

  • Book Bowl

St. Thomas More participates in the Book Bowl. This is an exciting and enriching opportunity for our 6th and 8th grade students who love reading and discussing books. Students work in teams to explore a curated list of 12 books chosen for schools across the Archdiocese of Omaha.

During weekly meetings, students dive into these books through engaging discussions and by creating quiz questions to challenge one another. These sessions prepare them for the annual Archdiocesan Book Bowl competition, held every February.

  • Green Bengals Club

The Green Bengals Club empowers students to make a positive impact on their school and community through hands-on environmental stewardship. Every classroom has a recycling bin for paper, cardboard and hand towels, giving students a chance to practice eco-friendly habits daily.

Beyond the classroom, the club participates in park cleanups, maintains our STM outdoor learning garden, and engages in other service projects that benefit the wider community. Along the way, students build teamwork, take pride in caring for their environment, and strengthen connections with classmates through shared purpose.

  • Reading Buddies

At St. Thomas More, older students have the opportunity to serve as mentors and role models for younger classmates through our Reading Buddies program. Kindergarten and 2nd graders, 1st and 4th graders, and 3rd and 5th graders are paired together to foster meaningful connections across grade levels.

Each week, buddies meet one-on-one to read, talk and learn from one another.

  • Soles Saving Souls

Soles Saving Souls is a community service fun run that highlights local organizations that help those in need. We build community not only at our school but in our local community by researching, fundraising, and running for the local organizations. We also find community and success within our school community by cheering on and celebrating our runners at the race. The Soles Saving Souls race is an amazing opportunity to highlight that small acts can have a large impact and can be fun in the process!

  • Peddler’s Market

The Peddler’s Market is an annual tradition during the Christmas season that brings together students, families and parishioners. Participants host booths offering handmade goods like bracelets, crafts, baked goods, and other creative treasures, which gives everyone a chance to share their passions and talents.
